The Procrastinator is a local-first Chrome extension. It is designed so that it cannot collect your browsing data. We don't run a server for it, and nothing about what you browse ever leaves your computer.

What the extension uses (on your device only)

The task you type in.
Which of your own configured distraction sites is currently open — matched by domain name only.
How long you have been on that site.
The personality and settings you choose.
Simple local counts (visits, snoozes, time) used to show you your own focus stats.

All of this is stored only in your browser's local storage. It is never transmitted anywhere.

What the extension never does

It does not read the text, posts, messages, or search queries on any page.
It does not know which specific video, article, or page you are viewing.
It does not take screenshots or record your screen.
It does not send your browsing activity to us or to any third party.
It requires no account and no login.

Payments (Pro)

If you purchase Pro, payment is handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the merchant of record. They collect the information needed to process your payment (such as your email and billing details) under their own privacy policy. To unlock Pro, the extension verifies your license key with Lemon Squeezy. This is the only network request the extension makes, and it contains no browsing data — only your license key.

Analytics

We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking inside the extension.

Children

The Procrastinator is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
